Here at the DSEC Lab, we study emotional development in adolescence. One of the ways we do this is through examining the facial expressions people use to communicate emotional intent. The FACS uses facial action units to measure the characteristics of someone’s emotional expression. This helps researchers put numbers to participants’ facial expressions!
